This is an unusual intimate painting. The framework is very much part of the mixed media art. Three dimensional textured wood gives the illusion of looking through a fence to quietly witness the determined army of skeletons marching by. I was inspired by by old movie stop action creatures. The skeleton army in Jason and the Argonauts definitely come to mind.
